It is estimated that more than 1.1 million people in the world suffer from some kind of mental disorder on a daily basis. Anxiety tops the list, and depression follows closely behind. It has also increased disorders related to the use and abuse of alcohol and/or drugs in recent years. And even if it is not named in the media, more people die by suicide than by traffic accidents.

Sixty-one percent of marriages end in breakup and schools still do not teach subjects that teach us how to manage our emotions in times of crisis.

ABOUT THE THERAPY

I love my profession, it is my vocation, and I consider that each person I have in front of me is unique and special, therefore she he must have a personalized treatment based on a previous evaluation of his her problem and his her vital circumstances.

I use strategies based on scientific evidence, that is to say, they have shown in many previous studies that they work and that they will help you achieve your goals. Specifically, the approach I use most is Cognitive-Behavioral counseling, as it has been shown to be the most effective for most anxiety and mood disorders. However, depending on the person and their needs, I use other approaches and strategies (Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Coaching and Motivational Interviewing) to be helpful. As I said before, everyone is unique and learns differently. I adapt to your way of seeing the world and we work together to make you feel better about yourself.

My way of working is based on honesty, respect, transparency and authenticity. Any questions you may have during or after the sessions, don’t hesitate to ask because I can help you. You are about to begin a very important process of change, growth, and transformation, and I don’t want you to feel alone at any time.

All information discussed during the sessions will be strictly confidential, completely safe and judgment-free.

My services do not only include the consultation, but also the scheduling of tasks to be done during the week to reinforce what has been learned. Change is a process, is not a goal, practice and patience is needed to grow..

WHAT ARE THE PHASES OF THE THERAPY PROCESS?

First, I will evaluate your case personally.

I need to know you: what you look like, what your environment is like, what your history is like, how your problem has been created and what factors are maintaining it in the present moment.

Then we will make a detailed analysis for you to understand what is happening to you and together we will set some goals towards which we will start working, (better emotional management, decrease your anxiety levels, increase your mood, feel more confident, learn social skills, develop some better coping skilss, etc…)

Then we will make together an action plan especially for you, in which we will include the objectives to be achieved in a long term and short term period.

In summary, the therapy process consists of the following phases;

Evaluation phase.

Analysis and objective.

Treatment.

Relapse prevention.

Follow-up.

Once the action plan has been accepted, we will start working together to achieve the objectives.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO GO TO THE PSYCHOLOGIST?

The interventions usually last between 10 and 15 sessions, except in more complex cases. At the beginning, the sessions will be weekly and as you progress, we will distance them in time.

It is not that you are going to the psychologist for years but that you understand what is happening to you, why your problem is being maintained and you learn tools to be able to fix it successfully. It is a journey to self-knowledge that will help you live a fuller life according to your values and principles.

WHAT IF AFTER I GO TO THE PSYCHOLOGIST I FALL BACK INTO MY PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOR AGAIN?

Relapses are a part of life.

Nothing lasts forever, everything changes. The important thing is to adapt to these situations and be flexible. At these times it is important to be honest with yourself and ask for help. In my experience, pride does not help the situation to improve: the longer you let time go by, without reversing the situation, the worse you will feel. .

You don’t have to break down in the face of relapses, but learn from them. You need to analyze the triggers, the causes and what mental and emotional processes have led you to have them again.

After that, we will set goals and guidelines to approach the situation differently.

HOW DOES ONLINE THERAPY WORK? IS IT AS EFFECTIVE AS FACE-TO-FACE THERAPY?

Several studies show that there is no difference in the effectiveness of online therapy compared to face-to-face treatment.

So you can rest assured that this works exactly the same as a face-to-face therapy, only by video conference.

It also has some advantages.

We will work from your environment which sometimes makes it easier to integrate what you have learned in therapy into your daily life.

More flexible schedules: You only need a tablet, a computer or simply your mobile phone, and you can use any space you have free to have the session.

Totally anonymous: There is no possibility of meeting someone you know in the waiting room.

You will save money and time: You will not have to pay for public transport, petrol, parking, nor will you have to waste time travelling to the surgery.

Sessions are conducted via Skype, Zoom or a Whatsapp.

I can guarantee that if you follow the guidelines I will give you, it will significantly improve your emotional well-being. The mental factor of a sport is fundamental to be able to manage all the stimuli (external and internal stimuli) and thus be able to perform better in training, in competitions and in short, enjoy your sport!

I’m sorry but I can’t make any discounts on the price of sessions or packages (see below). Apart from the costs of maintaining the website, I have to pay various taxes, insurance, materials, etc, and I spend quite a bit of time preparing for the sessions, among other things related to the therapies.

Very occasionally, I will promote quick sessions at an adaptable cost to treat very specific problems or launch special offers, but these will be limited in time. Stay tunned for this offer!

My name is Marisa Richelle, I have a degree in Psychology from Morehead State University, KY, USA. I am a graduate of the University of Valencia, Collegiate No. CV13166. I have a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology (Arizona, USA), Athletic Counseling (Massachusetts, USA) and in Emotional Intelligence and Neurolinguistic Programming (Online). Knowledge about Coaching and Mindfulness through some courses followed.

Speaker at various workshops for sports clubs in the area. Amateur triathlete, although I enjoyed any type of outdoors sports, it gives me a lot of energy to my spirit!
